SRO Motorsports Australia calendar finalised for 2025

The final event for the 2025 SRO Motorsports Australia calendar has been locked in, with Sandown International Raceway confirmed as the remaining round of next year’s schedule.

Following the release of SRO Motorsports Australia’s provisional six-round calendar earlier this year where all but one location was announced, the newly confirmed Sandown event will take place over the last weekend of July and will serve as the fourth round of the GT World Challenge Powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia seasons.

In addition to Sandown being confirmed, the Queensland Raceway round has also seen a change of date - shifting from its originally scheduled time slot of August to the final weekend of May.

All other dates from the provisional calendar will remain the same, with Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and Sydney Motorsport Park to host the two categories over the first weekends of April and May, while The Bend Motorsport Park and New Zealand’s Hampton Downs will see out the season in September and November.

The six rounds will also form part of SRO Motorsport Australia’s new premier events platform, which will be the home of national level circuit racing in Australia. More details on the new platform will be announced in the coming months.

Two more rounds remain in the 2024 calendar, with both categories at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend before the season finale next month at Bathurst.

Ben McMellan

SRO Motorsports Australia CEO

“We are in the full swing of planning for 2025 and confirming Sandown as the remaining round is integral to this - so it’s pleasing to officially have our calendar locked in,” said McMellan.

“It was an obvious choice to have Sandown as the last piece of the puzzle as it’s a very special circuit and boasts a rich history in Australian motorsport.

“As for the Queensland round, we believe moving it to earlier in the year will have a range of benefits to teams and drivers in what is a beautiful time of year.

“Next year is obviously going to be a very busy year on all fronts, so we look forward to getting the season underway and running premier events at Australia’s best circuits.”
