Radical Cup Australia confirmed on SRO Motorsports Australia 2025 calendar

SRO Motorsports Australia has received another major boost ahead of the 2025 season with the Radical Cup Australia aligning its full five-round calendar to the new racing platform.

The popular sports car category will now be racing at all five Australian rounds of SRO Motorsports Australia’s calendar next year, which will be headlined by GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS and Monochrome GT4 Australia.

Radical Cup Australia is the latest support category to be named as part of the series, joining the likes of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia and the Ferrari Challenge.

Starting off at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in April, the series will then head to Sydney Motorsport Park, Queensland Raceway and Sandown International Raceway before wrapping up at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park.

Enjoying a record-setting year of more than 20 cars per round, Radicals will be a welcome addition to the platform in 2025, with competitors putting on high quality entertaining racing at each event they attend.

SRO Motorsports Australia and the Radical Cup Australia’s 2025 seasons begin at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on April 4-6.

QUOTES

Ben McMellan

SRO Motorsports Australia CEO

"We are delighted to have the Radical Cup Australia locked in for all five Australian rounds of SRO Motorsports Australia's new platform next year," said McMellan.

"With a number of our regular drivers having also raced in Radicals, including the likes of Alex Gardner and Elliott Schutte, the category has proved a solid breeding ground for driver talent and can act as a stepping stone into the top level of GT racing, which makes it a fantastic support category.

"Having a category like Radicals that attracts big numbers at every event and offers competitive, entertaining racing is a brilliant result for the overall series and we are excited for what next season will bring.”

Charise Bristow

Radicals Category Manager

“It made a lot of sense for us to work with SRO and secure a place at their events for 2025,” Bristow added.

“It’s going to be a great product with really high-quality categories, great events and broadcast so it’s another step in us continuing to grow one-make Radical competition in Australia further.

“Bringing GT and Sports Car racing together on the same program will be really appealing to fans coming to the track and watching on TV – it will be great to be part of that.

“There are a lot of crossovers between Radical Cup Australia and GT racing in Australia, with teams and drivers often doing double duties, so there’s some economies of scale for them as a bonus.

“After such a strong year we are in the right place to continue our growth into a great 2025 season.”
