Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS season 2024 rivals Chaz Mostert and Will Brown will combine for next year’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
Brown will switch from Audi to Ferrari as he joins Mostert and factory Ferrari driver Daniel Serra in a Pro Class Ferrari 296 GT3 at the Mountain.
It was Mostert securing the Fanatec GT Australia title alongside Liam Talbot to cap off an impressive maiden season by Arise Racing GT and the Ferrari 296 GT3.
The Ferrari duo defeated the Shaw & Partners/Kelso Electrical Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II partnership of Brown and Brad Schumacher in a tense final round at Bathurst.
With Brown joining the squad to defeat him in the title, it has the Supercars champ targeting his first victory in Australia’s international enduro.
"I am really excited to join Arise Racing GT at the Bathurst 12 hour,” Brown said.
“After Chaz and Liam beat me in the championship this year, I thought If you can't beat them then you need to join them.
“I have watched Arise throughout the year and have noticed how professional and committed they are to winning which is something that excited me. I can't wait to get to the mountain and have a crack in the Ferrari."
Mostert is also gunning for his maiden victory in the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour and this campaign provides one of his best chances.
“I’m excited to be back with Arise Racing GT,” Mostert said.
“We had an awesome year in Fanatec GT Australia and it will be great to be teaming up with Will and Daniel as they’re both fantastic drivers.
“Also looking forward to teaming back up with my long-time friend and engineer Adam DeBorre. Pumped to keep the momentum going for Arise GT!”
Arise Racing GT won three races on its way to finishing first and third in its pair of Ferrari 296 GT3s at the end of its first year of competition.
Ferrari has been victorious in the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour twice with Maranello Motorsport and Arise Racing GT team principal Jordan Oon is confident the squad has put together a strong package to add another.
“It would be fair to say that in Will Brown and Chaz Mostert we have two of the best drivers in Australia right now,” emphasised Oon.
“They raced each other hard in both GT World Challenge and Supercars this year, and both are driving better than ever. It’s hugely exciting to pair them together for our first attempt at the Bathurst 12 Hour and have a factory Ferrari pilot in the form of Daniel Serra join them.
“It’s the strongest possible combination we could put together. Their combination of local knowledge, international experience, Bathurst success and ability to work with the team ensures we have the best chance to put ourselves in a position to challenge for victory.”
Serra is an experienced driver having won his class at Le Mans twice and at Daytona once, but failed to make the start at his sole Bathurst attempt in 2020 following a crash in practice.
Arise Racing GT will reveal its Pro-Am driver line-up for its second Ferrari in due course.
The Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour will be held on January 31-February 2.
