Another striking livery from multiple GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS Am Class winners Geyer Valmont Racing has been revealed ahead of its Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour campaign.
Partnering with Tigani Motorsport once again, regular drivers Marcel Zalloua and Sergio Pires will be joined by 24 Hours of Daytona class winner Scott Andrews in Australia’s international endurance event, stepping up in the process.
Andrews returns to racing in Australia following a stint contesting top level sports cars and GT racing predominantly in the United States. An LMP3 class winner at the 24 Hours of Daytona, Andrews is a previous IMSA Endurance Cup champion and competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Am.
This will be Andrews’ second Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour start.
The change of name to Geyer Valmont Racing marks the merging of the two companies of Zalloua and Pires reflecting in the livery of the team’s Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
It will be the fourth time Zalloua and Pires will team up for the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, with the latter achieving a clean-sweep of Am Class results at last year’s Bathurst International season finale.
“It’s exciting to be going back to Bathurst in the new-look Geyer Valmont Racing Audi R8,” Zalloua said.
“We are excited to have Scott join the Geyer Valmont Racing team for this year’s race. I am sure he is coming to win, so we are ready for the challenge and as always keen to take it to the bigger and more high profile teams and drivers.”
Pires is excited to return to the Mountain after his recent success.
“Super excited to have another crack at the 12 Hour we have had some bad luck in the last few years so hoping the mountain chooses us this time,” said Pires
“We are stepping up to ProAm but feel that we are more ready than ever to give it a red hot shot.”
The Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour takes place at Mount Panorama on January 21 - 2 February 2.
