It’s a big weekend in GT racing as the biggest drivers and teams take on the prestigious Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa celebrating its centenary this year.
A round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, many Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS drivers have taken up the challenge of the historic event.
From winning at The Bend to roaring up Eau Rouge, leading Am contender Brad Schumacher will make his international racing debut at the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa.
Joining fellow Audi squad Haas RT for his effort on the recommendation of professional driver Frederic Vervisch, Schumacher will be joined by Olivier Bartels and Armand Fumal.
Schumacher was a last start winner at The Bend sharing with Will Brown in the Shaw & Partners/Kelso Electrical Team MPC Audi.
It’s back-to-back overseas events for Jaxon Evans as he once again joins Phantom Global Racing at Spa after competing with the team at Fuji last weekend.
Fulfilling his role as a factory Porsche driver, Evans will join Joel Ericsson and Thomas Preining for the event.
Fellow New Zealander Brendon Leitch has been a highlight this season in Australia after winning at Phillip island alongside Tim Miles and will take up the challenge of the world’s largest GT race.
Leitch will join another Kiwi star in Earl Bamber in his own team alongside Adrian D’Silva and Kerong Li in a Porsche.
Triple Eight Race Engineering will continue its Intercontinental GT Challenge quest with Prince Jefri Ibrahim being joined by Jordan Love, Alexander Sims and Martin Konrad in the Johor Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3.
The Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa will be covered via the GTWorld YouTube Channel this weekend, with practice, qualifying and Superpole covered as well.
