Team BRM lead Audi top three in Practice 2

Alex Peroni and Mark Rosser have led an Audi top three in GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS’ second practice session at EVENTelec GT Festival Queensland on Friday, as the pair ended up four tenths faster than any other crew.

With the rain falling on the Queensland Raceway circuit for the session, Peroni had the honour of driving the car first and delivered right from the get-go - the Tasmanian’s 1m 16.500s on his sixth lap remaining unbeaten for the rest of the one-hour session.

Second fastest for the session was the Team MPC Audi R8 LMS EVO ll of Broc Feeney and Brad Schumacher after the duo had occupied the session for much of it - a last-ditch effort from Feeney meant they ended up five tenths off the pacesetters.

Rounding out the top three for the session was Schumacher and Feeney’s Team MPC teammates in Brendon Leitch and Tim Miles - the pair a further five tenths off.

Not only was the Audi dominant in the Pro-Am Cup, but also in the Trophy and Am Classes as Paul Stokell and Gary Higgon led the way in Trophy class cars, while Renee Gracie was fastest in the Am Class.

Behind the wheel of the KFC Audi R8 LMS, Stokell and Higgon ended up eight tenths faster than their Trophy Class rivals, Luke Youlden and Nathan Halstead in the Tigani Motorsport Porsche 991 GT3R.

Gracie was a cut above her fellow Am competitors, as Tigani Motorsport’s Theo and James Koundouris were more than a second behind in their Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO.

Just one session remains for the day, with Pre-Qualifying at 3:30pm AEST.
