In just their second session together for the 2025 GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, Lee Holdsworth and Marc Cini have surged to the top of the timesheets, setting the fastest lap in Practice 2.
Behind the wheel of the Hallmarc/Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS Evo II, Holdsworth completed all 34 laps of the busy session, posting his best time, a 1m08.102s, on his final flying lap.
Mirroring Practice 1, the two Arise Racing GT Ferrari 296 GT3s filled second and third positions, with Jordan Love and Steve Wyatt edging out overall series leaders Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte.
The battle at the top was fiercely competitive, with just half a tenth separating Holdsworth’s Audi from the Ferrari of Love and Wyatt. Evans and Schutte were a further three tenths off the pace in third.
Fourth quickest was the Realta/Tigani Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO of Jayden Ojeda and Paul Lucchitti, who trailed the second Ferrari by just over two tenths. Rounding out the top five were Broc Feeney and Brad Schumacher in the Kelso Electrical/Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS Evo II, just seven hundredths behind the Tigani Motorsport duo.
In the Am class, Darren Currie and Grant Donaldson topped the times with a strong showing, going half a second quicker than class leader Renee Gracie in the OnlyFans/Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS Evo II.
Theo and James Koundouris, driving the Tigani Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, once again claimed third in class — four tenths behind Gracie’s Audi.
In the Trophy Class, Paul Stokell and Matt Stoupas narrowly missed a top-10 result, placing 11th overall in the KFC/Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS.
Just one session remains on a packed Friday schedule for GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at GT Festival Sandown, with Pre-Qualifying set for 4:25pm AEST.
